Marion’s Flu takes the relationship up another notch.
Kristoph daringly fetches her from her bed and brings her to his house
to look after. Even a Human doing that would be overstepping the mark
a little. For him, it’s a big step. He is actively engaging in her
life in a huge way.
His thoughts about his past lovers are another place where
Theta Sigma fans will be nodding and smiling because they are in on it.
They already know about Lady Lilliana D’Argenlunna. She has been
mentioned several times as a family friend, and as somebody young Chrístõ
respected and loved. They know about Hillary Dey Barr, the gendermorph
because she is the parent of Cam/Camilla, the gendermorph who Chrístõ
met and had a beautifully sensual but platonic relationship with.
And there are a few more clues for the knowing, about his
past when he reveals that he had been a soldier in his younger days and
had lost the love of his life while he was away at war. Marion is intrigued
by him. She is a little bit in love with him.
And he is a lot in love with her, but he has some issues
to settle, first. The readers already know what those are!
Marion and Kristoph is not, clearly, a series to be read
by a first time reader. It is a spin off from Theta Sigma and fills in
the blanks from that series. I don't think it would make any sense at
all standing on its own. But that doesn't matter. It clearly is meant
to be read alongside Theta Sigma.
