Sara kingdom was a Space Security Agent, the sister of Bret Vyon, another agent who was aiding The Doctor in trying to defeat the Daleks. Sara was tricked into believing her brother to be traitor and killed him. after discovering the truth, she joined The Doctor along with Steven, after they lost Kararina, travelling in the TARDIS to several different locations in space and time as they tried to reach the planet Kembel for a final confrontation with the real traitor, Mavic Chen and the Daleks.

The Doctor defeated the Master Plan with the Time Destructor — a device that accelerated time. He ordered his companions back to the TARDIS for their protection, but Sara did not do so. She and The Doctor were caught in the field, but while Tthe Doctor, as a Time Lord, was unaffected, Sara, was rapidly aged, her body dying and turning to dust before The Doctor's horrified eyes.

She had the fourth shortest tenure as a companion after Grace Holloway (one movie) and Adam (2 episodes) and Katarina (5 episodes.)

Jean Marsh was born on July 1st, 1934. She is an actress and writer, best known for co-creating the British period drama Upstairs, Downstairs with Eileen Atkins. She also portrayed house parlourmaid Rose Buck in the same series. Marsh and Atkins also co-created the 1991 television series The House of Eliott.

She has had several film appearances, including the fantasy films Return to Oz (1985) and Willow (1988) in which she plays similar characters of an evil Princess and an evil Queen. She also played a memorable role as the traitor, Joanna Grey in The Eagle has Landed (1977).

She has appeared in numerous British and American television programs in the 1950s and 1960s, including The Twilight Zone (in a memorable episode in which she played a prisoner's robotic companion) and UFO. She also had a role in the failed television series based on the movie of the same name, 9 to 5.

She was married for several years to Jon Pertwee, the third actor to play The Doctor. Jean herself appeared three times in the series, both before and after Jon Pertwee's era, playing different characters, including the First Doctor's companion Sara Kingdom. Her part of Morgaine in the serial Battlefield is similar to her roles in the above-mentioned fantasy films.

In 2000 Jean Marsh had a starring role in CBBC drama The Ghosthunter, as the evil Mrs Croker. The Ghosthunter ran for three series from 2000–2002. She also made an appearance in the Blue Peter Quest in 2003 as the villain, Stryker.

Today she lives in Boxford, Berkshire.
