The
Tenth Doctor inherited the sense of loss the Ninth Doctor carried
with him, and from time to time it troubled him. But his regeneration
gave him a degree of remove from the Time War and he was able to have
a little more fun. He was also able to consolidate his relationship
with Rose, although he still found it impossible to say out loud that
he loved her. He was, like all his predecessors, a Doctor with a strong
sense of justice, with mercy for the innocent, but a metaphorical
sword for the guilty. His best 'superhero superpower' is his ability
to instill trust in those around him, even those initially hostile
to him.
