The previous story ended with a plan to visit Susan. So this is what we have. It had been pointed out on the forum that Sukie had so far not been fully introduced as a character. She was first introduced as a very small baby. In Children of Paradise she is nearly one year old. After that she is rarely seen except as a baby in the background. But at four years old she comes into her own as a character. The Doctor has to babysit her and it is an opportunity for him to find out about her, and find out what she is capable of. The story telling scene expands her telepathic skills and introduces a couple of nice bits of culture. The Children of Lir and The Prince of Dyfed. The Shades, Sukie’s not so imaginary friends are distinctly and deliberately based on Edvard Munch’s Scream. That image was just asking to be used. The planet they came from was based on a picture I saw of a planet that was completely transparent except for the edges of the continents. The rest filled itself in, more or less. The fight between The Doctor and the Aggressor in his own head, and the twins coming to his rescue, proving how much they had learnt from him made it into something of a rite of passge for them as well as for Sukie.
