Mr Bartle was a yes man to Mr Halpen, at least to his face. He approved of his bargain price advertisement to boost Ood sales until he was off the telephone to him, then he bad-mouthed his employer. He was bad-tempered with his Ood secretary, criticising him for bringing the wrong file. This, was his come-uppance.

Death: Mr Bartle was one of a handful of deaths in the plant that were put down to heart attacks until his death by Ood was caught on security cameras.
