Name – Clockwork Droids
The Clockwork people who
terrorise Versailles are disguised repair droids from the space ship.
They have basic transmat capabilities and a limited intelligence that
may have been damaged by the ion storm, since they began repairing
the ship with body parts from the crew. They sought the head of Madame
De Pompadour for the ship’s central processor – the brain.
The reason for their insane quest was only realised at the end of
the adventure when the name of the ship – SS Madame De Pompadour
was finally revealed.
Death – When The Doctor
broke the last link with the ship the clockwork ran down and the droids
seized up. Those that fell down smashed to pieces. The rest became
like statues.
