The
Duke of Manhattan is a patient in the New Earth hospital, in the care
of the Sisters of Plenitude. He is suffering from Pentrifold
Regression, a disease which turns Human flesh to stone. He appears
to be dying when The Doctor first sees him, but Sister Jatt
says he will be up and about in no time. The Doctor says he will only
be up and about as a statue as there will be no cure for a thousand
years. but a little later on the same day the Duke is healthy and
hearty and having champagne served to him by his butler.
