Name – Gwen Cooper
Gwen Cooper was recruited to Torchwood from the South Wales police nearly two years before the events that brought her into contact with The Doctor. She is a warm hearted woman who juggles her home life and working for a secret organisation that monitors alien incursions on Earth. When the Daleks stole the Earth to use in their plan to destroy the universe, she, Jack and Ianto were in the Torchwood Hub below Roald Dahl Plas in Cardiff. Jack left her and Ianto to defend the Hub while he searched for the Doctor. All seemed lost when a Dalek penetrated the Hub, but they were saved by a timelock that froze the Dalek in time until it was destroyed. Gwen and Ianto helped to set up the ‘towrope’ that The Doctor used to get Earth back to its proper place in the solar system. She seemed to be impressed with The Doctor’s appearance. Ianto was slightly jealous.
