Professor Hobbes was an insufferable know it all. He had studied the planet of midnight and had taken the trip to the Sapphire Waterfall fourteen times. He claimed to know everything about the planet, and so gained the trust of the passengers, even though he clearly didn’t know about the entity. He was actually a rather controlling man who treated Dee Dee, his assistant, appallingly, stopping her from speaking and demeaning her position as a research student.
