Name – The Host/Werewolf
Species – Human/Werewolf
Planet – Earth/Unknown
Temperament – Man eating monster
Appearances – Tooth and Claw

The Doctor called it a lupine wavelength haemovariform. The creature came to Earth when what appeared to be a meteor crashed in the glen of St. Catherine in 1540. The surviving cells were strong enough to control the minds of the monks of the glen, who kidnapped a child to be a host for the cells and to allow them to grow. Once in a generation a new child was taken to continue the monster’s growth into a creature able to transform in the presence of moonlight into a wolfman. This is does to plan when it is brought to Torchwood House. The monks mean to have it bite Queen Victoria so that the haemovariform cells can migrate to her and the royal family would be the bearers of the infection. It is allergic to mistletoe, or thinks it is. The Doctor suggests that the monks ‘taught’ it to fear it in order to protect themselves. Sir Robert’s father knew of the ‘allergy’ and protected the house with mistletoe oil in the wood panels of the rooms.

Death – The Doctor trapped the werewolf in the bright beam of concentrated moonlight coming through the telescope and refracted by the Koh-i-noor diamond. The host begged him to finish the job and, somewhat sadly, he did.
