Jake Simmonds is one of the ‘Preachers’ who know the gospel truth about John Lumic’s evil plans. They are a resistence group who team up with The Doctor and Rose to defeat the Cybermen. When Rickey and Mrs Moore are killed Jake is the only one of the original Preachers left and teams up with Mickey to destroy the Cybermen factories around the world. It is strongly hinted that he and Rickey were more than just friends.

Jake is one of the alternative universe Torchwood team who come to help fight the Cybermen on our Earth when they cross the void with the Daleks.
