The Krillitane are a composite race who ‘cheery pick’ physical traits from the species they conquer, incorporating them into their own bodies. When the Doctor last encountered them they looked like humans with very long necks, but after the conquest of Bessan they were able to take on a bat-like form enabling them to fly. The can maintain a morphic illusion of human form. They are carnivorous in either form and seem able to consume an entire Human child. A side effect of their evolution is to make Krillitane oil deadly to them. It reacts like acid on their skin. They sleep like bats, hanging from the roof, except that they are dormant at night, unlike bats. They are temporarily disabled by loud noises.

Death – All of the remaining Krillitane were killed when K9 exploded the Krillitane oil over them and subsequently blew up the kitchen. There are no known survivors from that incident, though it is not known if they represent the whole Krillitane race or, like the Slitheen, are just one family.
