Madame du Poisson’s
manservant is a much put upon man, sent to find out why Reinette is
late joining her mother in the carriage. He finds her in the arms
of an oddly dressed man and rightly demands to know what the hell
is going on and who he is. The answer leaves him none the wiser, nor
does the disappearance of the stranger into a revolving fireplace.
