Matron Casp is the head nurse in charge of the hospital on New Earth. She is one of the instigators of the programme to grow cloned humans by the thousands in order to produce the cures for the ‘real’ Humans of New New York. She coldly orders the destruction of those clones who have developed sentience.

Death – Matron Casp is pursuing The Doctor and Rose/Cassandra up the service shaft ladder when she is touched by one of the plague carriers and infected. She falls to her death down the shaft.
