The school kids are regarded as nothing more than expendable resources by the Krillitane. Nina, a child who lives in a children’s home, becomes Mr Finch’s lunch. Milo seems to have had a similar fate, as he is not seen again after Mr Wagner emerges from under the desk looking pleased with himself. The others are rather more lucky. They are rescued from the maths room by Mickey and make their escape into the playground before the school explodes.
