Name – Metella
Metella is something of a snob, worried about how things appear, rather than how they are. She is annoyed by her husband’s idea of modern art – a weird blue box that takes up space in the house. She is very annoyed by her feckless son, and proud that her daughter has been chosen for elevation to the Sisterhood. When Lucius Dextrus comes to the house she is anxious to impress, and she is distraught when one of the Pyrovile – the messengers of the gods as she calls it – is destroyed in her home.
Metella is one of the few survivors of Pompeii along with her family, thanks to The Doctor and Donna, and is later seen in Rome, praising her son who is a medical student, now.
