The Nodes are computerised installations around the library that give information to visitors. They all have a face taken from the fleshbanks, donated by dying people. The first node encountered by The Doctor and Donna was a black woman who warned them to run. The second was a man called Mark. The Doctor likened it to donating a bench. Later, Donna’s own face ended up on one of the nodes. The girl, Charlotte, also appeared on a node near the central computer system.
