Proper Dave was the pilot of the spaceship which Strackman Lux’s expedition arrived on. He was a friendly, intelligent man.

Death: Dave was one of the first victims of the Vashta Nerada. On discovering he had two shadows his space helmet was sealed. Unfortunately the swarm was already inside. They reduced him to a skeleton with one monotonous last phrase left in his communicator – Hey, who put out the lights.
