Hrostar is the second of the three Menoptra agents who came to Vortis ahead of the spearhead force. He trusts Barbara and protects her when Hroondah wants her killed. He is captured by the Zarbi and has his wings pulled off. He is taken to the Crater of Needles and made to work as a slave, gathering material to expand the Karcenome. He escaped along with Barbara and Prapillus and Hlynia.
Death – Hrostar is killed by a Zarbi controlling a Venom Grub when they are ambushed at the spearhead landing site.
