Malsan is an elder of Aridius. He and Rynian tell The Doctor and his friends the sad story of the Aridian people and their dying planet. He and Rynian take them to the underground city but are forced to hand them over to the Daleks.

Death: When Malsan comes to take The Doctor and his companions to the Daleks a Mire Beast breaks into the room. Malsan is killed by the Beast while saving Barbara.
