Albert C Richardson was First Mate of the Marie Celeste, the ship whose entire crew went missing in 1872. He captured Barbara and accused her of being a stowaway and was knocked out by Vicki who rescued her from him. When he came around, the TARDIS was vanishing and shortly after the Daleks arrived.

  Death: According to this version of events, he drowned when the Daleks drove everyone overboard.
