The Second Elder is suspicious of The Doctor and his friends, but is basically an honest man who tries to do the right thing. He stops the Administrator and Engineer from using the disintegrator. He suffers at the hands of those two before they finally kill him.

Death – The Second Elder is killed by The Administrator in order to take his place as Second Elder.
