Dulcians were a peaceful, pacifist species with two hearts ruled by a council led by a Director. Life with this advance civilisation was pleasant and agreeable, with strife and crime unknown. Indeed, warfare itself had been outlawed centuries before. Although the Dulcians had dabbled with nuclear technology, setting off an atomic blast on an isolated island, they were horrified by the destructive power and abandoned this line of research. The island was left a radioactive wasteland, home only to survey groups and visiting students and used as a warning against using such dangerous technology.
Although the Dulcians were happy to accept facts on face value, they frowned upon undue curiosity and quick decisions, preferring to debate, discuss and deliberate every move before taking action. This, coupled with their pacifist tendencies, left them helpless in the face of Dominator invasion.
