Daniel Eldred was a retired professor and rocket engineer. He established a museum dedicated to space travel, feeling that Earth's total reliance on T-Mat was dangerous. He and his rockets were instrumental in helping the Doctor defeat the Ice Warriors and their "Seeds of Death” and was just proved right in his belief that T-Mat could not always be relied on.
