Several apparitions were conjured by the Malus. One was an emaciated man who appeared ghostlike in the old church. Another was a beggar who was corporeal enough to grab Tegan’s handbag. The beggar appeared again in the church before being replaced by a cavalier. Later, a group of roundhead troopers appeared and killed one of George Hutchinson’s men. Another was a lizardlike creature with a malevolent face that appeared on the wall of the TARDIS.
