Valgard was one of the Vanir. He was ambitious and wanted to take over Eirak's leadership. He entered the Forbidden Zone after Bor and the Doctor and brought them out. He and the other Vanir eventually remained on Terminus to help Nyssa run it as a regular hospital when she told them she could replicate Hydromel and break their dependence on rationed drugs.
