Name – The Face of Boe
The Face of Boe first appeared as a huge disembodied face suspended in a large tank of swirling smoke. He was the sponsor of the party at The End of The World. He said and did very little at the time. In The Long Game he was the subject of tabloid speculation that he was pregnant, but this was obviously false since he was later found in the hospital on New Earth where he was said to be the last of his race, the rest of Boekind having died out centuries ago. He was said to have lived for millions of years and seen empires come and go. One of the many legends about Boe was that, before his death, he would impart a great secret to one like himself, the last of his kind, a lonely wanderer. In Gridlock, after giving his last energy to help The Doctor save the people of lower New Earth, Boe finally dies, after telling The Doctor “You Are Not Alone.” This prophecy was later revealed to mean that The Master was alive, disguised as a human called Professor Yana (You Are Not Alone). After The Master was defeated one more piece was added to the riddle when Jack Harkness revealed that he grew up in a small place called Boeshane, and when, as young, handsome boy he joined the Time Agency he was called ‘The Face of Boe’. But that COULD just be a coincidence. Or could it?
Death - Sacrificed himself in order to save the people of New Earth.
