Cyril Shaps was a four part Doctor Who actor. He began in 1967 in Tomb of the Cybermen, as John Viner of the archaeological team searching for the lost Cybermen of Telos. Three years later in full colour he was Doctor Lennox in The Ambassadors of Death. Four years after that he played the small but important role of psychic Proffessor Herbert Clegg in Planet of The Spiders. In 1978, with The Fourth Doctor in charge, he was the Archimandrite of The Androids of Tara.
