Ian Thompson played two 1960s roles in Doctor Who. He was Hetra, one of the underground insects from The Web Planet in 1965, and Malsan, an Iridian, in The Chase. Since both of these roles called for strange costumes and peculiar voices, he was one of the contributors to the 1996 documentary, I Was A Doctor Who Monster, which saluted the long-suffering wearers of foam rubber prosthetics.
