John Scott Martin had a long association with Doctor Who. He played many different aliens and monsters beginning in 1965 with the Web planet as a Zarbi. The same year in The Chase he was both a Dalek and Mechanoid Operator. He was a Dalek operator again in Mission to the Unknown and Dalek Masterplan in 1965 and The Power of the Daleks (1966) and The Evil of the Daleks (1967).

In 1971 he was the Robot in Colony in Space and an uncredited villager in The Dæmons.

He was a Dalek again in Day of the Daleks, (1972), Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks (1973), Death to the Daleks (1974) Genesis of the Daleks (1975) The Five Doctors (1983) Resurrection of the Daleks (1984) Revelation of the Daleks(1985) and Remembrance of the Daleks (1988)

He was also an uncredited Mutt in The Mutants (1972) and uncreedited Gell Creature in The Three Doctors (1972) and uncredited reading guard in Robot (1973)

He had more recognisable parts as Hughes in The Green Death (1973) Kriz in The Brain of Morbius (1976) and the Nucleus in The Invisible Enemy (1977)
