Kevin Stoney was a jobbing actor in British TV from the 1960s, including stints in ABC’s Armchair Theatre which Sydney Newman and Verity Lambert had both been involved in. It is not surprising he was cast in character roles in Doctor Who. In 1965, in the ambitious Dalek Master Plan, he was the Human traitor, Mavic Chen. In 1968, in The Invasion, he played another classic baddie, Tobias Vaughn, this time collaborating with the Cybermen. His last stint on Doctor Who brought him into colour, and a huge chunk of make up and prosthetics to play the Vogan, Tyrum, this time an ally of The Doctor against the Cybermen.
