Geordie actor, Roger Avon played two roles in Doctor Who during the mid 1960s. In 1965, he was Saphadin, brother of Saladin, in The Crusade, the infamous episode where white actors ‘blacked up’ to play arab roles. A year later, he was Daxtar, a short lived character in the marathon Dalek Master Plan
