McLinden did not have many TV or film roles in his young like. But
he was thought of very well in the theatre business and was expected
to go far on the stage. Sadly, he was forced to curtail his ambitions,
but nevertheless continued to perform for seven years while struggling
against ill health. His death at just thirty years of age shocked
and saddened his colleagues in theatre and TV. As Mike in the seventh
Doctor episode Remembrance of the Daleks he came to the attention
of Doctor Who fans.
