John Ringham's career as a film and TV actor began in 1957 and continued until the year of his death when he played an 'elderly man'. He was also a stalwart of the British stage. In 1964 he played the iconic role of Tlotoxl in the Doctor Who story The Aztecs, and later went on to play Josiah Blake in the Smugglers and Robert Ashe in Colony in Space, all strong guest roles.
