Margot Van der Burgh was a distinguished actress with roles in many classic British TV serials such as Anna Karenina, Edward the Seventh and Great Expectations.

She had two very distinguished and memorable roles in Doctor Who. She first appeared with William Hartnell in the 1964 story The Aztecs where she played Cameca, a rare love interest for the Doctor who 'seduced' him with cocoa.

She later appeared with Tom Baker in the 1981 story The Keeper of Traken, in which she played Consul Katura.
