Eleventh Doctor

There's a new steampunk TARDIS and a steampunk sonic screwdriver to go with it. But first The new Doctor used his old sonic to the full, opening doors, closing doors, opening cracks in time, and finally using it to summon the Atraxi, before it was destroyed by prisoner Zero. At last, on board his new look TARDIS he gets a new look sonic screwdriver.

The Beast Below

The sonic unlocks the control panels in the Starship UK's engine room, unlocks doors, makes a star whale vomit and lets hunmans hear the whale scream. Far more than just a door handle.

Victory of The Daleks

Victory of the Daleks only saw one use of the Sonic Screwdriver - to open up Bracewell's android body and find the bomb.

Time Of Angels/Flesh and Stone

From reluctantly sonicing River Song, to opening doors and boosting communicators, the Sonic Screwdriver had no time to cool down.

The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood

The Hungry Earth introduced us to the concept of 'sonicing and entering' which is less illegal than breaking and entering, at least as long as The Doctor is doing it. The Sonic also makes a useful tool for scanning holes in the ground. Later, in Cold Blood, it proves useful for disarming Silurian soldiers.

Vincent and The Doctor

The Doctor didn't get the sonic out very much around Vincent Van Gogh's French village. When he did, the Krafaysis liked it, so he put it away again.

This isn't going to work..

The Lodger

Because the alien upstairs would detect it, The Doctor had to do without the sonic for much of his stay as Craig's lodger.
