I was lurking in WH Smiths and spotted THIS….
DAY ONE!
Read the Instruction manual.
Assemble the console. This was REALLY fiddly and photographing the process was NOT an option. I didn't dare let go.
But HEY, it DOES look like the console.
The console even includes a little wheel that makes the time rotor go up and down!
But I was worn out doing it! I left it on top of the TV overnight. DAY TWO
The mess left over! The DECK! I recruited Simon to help by pressing out the pieces and reading the manual
six supporting struts and a penknife
Two slotted in nicely
the supports were a lot harder
So far so good
Two sides and a ramp
More sides! The main struts slotted in nice and firm but the struts kept coming out!
Nearly there
floors going in.
More floors. Not as easy as they look. How many pieces of sellotpape (not supplied) have I had to resort to?
Four so far.
And thats it. I quit for today! DAY THREE The Roof
Can you guess what it is yet?
a three legged spider and a role of industrial strength sellotape
One leg
Is this a piece of the TARDIS or have the Macra evolved again?
No, it IS a TARDIS roof!
I quit for now. I need sleep. Finish it later. LATER
And it's finished!
Complete with seat, railings, Doctor, Martha and hatstand
We are NOT going to talk about that hatstand and how it was nearly as hard as assembling the whole thing!
Pride of place!
Does it Do What it Said on The Tin then? I think so. But Three DAYS to finish it. And they market this for KIDS!
