Diane Holmes was a pilot and feminist from 1953 who became stranded in 2007 due to the Cardiff Rift. She had a passionate sexual relationship with Owen, who fell in love with her, but she was unhappy with life in the 21st century and despite admitting her own love for him, and an emotional parting, she flew off in her plane, knowing that the Rift would open again for her and bring her somewhere new.

Louise Delamere, born in 1969, in Wallasey, Cheshire, was a Fellow student, flat-mate and friend of David Tennant. They rented his sister's flat in Paisley Road West, Glasgow.
