Eugene Jones was a young man with an obsession with aliens and Torchwood, especially Gwen Cooper, who he had a crush on. He worked in a call centre and believed that the alien eye he was given as a boy was worth enough money to send his friend Linda to Australia. He was tricked by his friend Gary and Josh, into thinking the alien wanted to buy it back. When he went to the rendezvous at a roadside café, he found the two of them waiting. He swallowed the eye and ran away from them, only to be killed by a passing car. He became a ghost, because of the eye, and stayed beside Gwen as she tracked down the truth about his accident.

Death: hit and run driver.
