Beth Halloran thought she was an ordinary woman, living an ordinary life with her husband, Mike, until a burglary turned into murder and the Torchwood team discovered that she was not even Human, but a member of Cell 114, a race of aliens who plant sleepers within societies in order to prepare the way for invasion. Beth refused to acknowledge that she was an alien and asked Torchwood to help her. They tried to freeze her in the cryogenic store, but the alien intelligence within her re-activated her. She assimilated everything there was to know about Torchwood before accidentally killing Mike, her husband. She was then recaptured by Torchwood who used her to trace the other sleepers.

Death: Beth knew that she might be taken over by the alien identity, and forced the Torchwood crew to kill her. Her body was placed in the cryogenic store.
