Brenda Williams is a plump woman who really doesn’t look good in green, but she was obviously trying. She is catty towards Mary Cooper, and very quick to point the finger of blame when things seemed to be going wrong at the wedding of Gwen and Rhys. She does all the talking in the family, it seems. Barry didn’t get a word in around her.

Nerys Hughes was born on 8 November 1941, Rhyl, Denbighshire, Wales. In the 1970s she was a household name as one of the Liver Birds, then as the District Nurse, one of the few programmes to feature Wales. She is noted for having performed both in classic Doctor Who and Torchwood.
