The soldier was billeted in Cardiff in 1812, when the peninsular wars were going on in Spain. He went into the woods with Mary, a prostitute, but seems to have panicked, hitting her. When she ran away he followed her and shot at her.

Death: The prostitute Mary had been taken over by the alien and after he shot her she ripped his heart out.
