Anneke Wills has possibly the most tragic personal and professional profile of all Doctor Who veterans. A string of love affairs, some with high profile actors, all went wrong. Her daughter by one of those men, Anthony Newley, died in a car crash. Her career after Doctor Who was far from what she wanted it to be. She is now living a quiet life in Devon and says she is happy with the solitude. That said, she does make personal appearances in which she is happy to talk about Doctor Who, which seems to be one of the most content and steady times of her life. She had an ‘afternoon’ audience at an Exeter hotel billed as “Come along and spend an intimate few hours in the company of one of classic Doctor Who's most charming and fascinating stars. No admission charge!” and later in 2007 she is a guest at DR WHO AT THE CAVERN 2 in Liverpool. She is working on an autobiography which according to her official website will be called either “Who Was I?” or “Who Am I?”
