Since leaving Doctor Who Billie Piper has had several parts in TV dramas, mainly in period costume. She has already been seen in the first of the Sally Lockhart Quartet, The Ruby In The Smoke, and is intending to play the role in all four dramas on screen. She has been Fanny Price in a lavish remake of Mansfield Park.

She made her stage acting debut in Treats, a play about an office girl with a complicated love life. There were some initial difficulties with missed performances but she since settled into the role.

Billie published her autobiography, Growing Pains, which candidly reveals her problems with depression and anorexia among many other personal revelations.
