June Brown played Lady Eleanor in Sarah Jane Smith’s first adventure, the Time Warrior. Among her many TV roles she went on to play Violet Leyton in the 1970s period drama The Duchess of Duke Street and then Aunt Sadie in the comedy Now and Then, but it was as Dot Cotton, one of the original cast of Eastenders that she really became a household name.
