Nicholas Courtney is another actor who has never really left Doctor Who. He is a regular guest at conventions and is the honorary president of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society. He has reprised the role of Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart in several Big Finish Audio productions.

In 1998 he released his autobiography, titled Five Rounds Rapid! He lives in semi-retirement in London with his second wife, Karen. A Second autobiography, Still Getting Away With It, was published in 2005.

One of his more unusual acting roles in recent years was as the British Narrator in the 2004 released computer game, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, a backhanded tribute, perhaps, to his most famous role as the archetypical British Army officer.
