With Sylvester McCoy and India Fisher (Big Finish Audio companion, Charley Pollard) at a Convention Paul McGann was an established actor befoe Doctor Who and although he maintains a connection through the Big Finish audio stories which took the Eighth Doctor to new adventures. he appeared in many varied film, TV and stage roles. One of his first parts after Doctor Who was as the father of the children in the film FairyTale: A True Story. A second Doctor Who connection, incidentally, is to be found here. One of the girls was played by Florence Hoath, Nancy in the 2005 Empty Child episode.
in the 2000s his movies have included My Kingdom (2001), Listening (2003) and Gypo (2005). In 2002, he appeared in the film adaptation of the third story from Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, Queen of the Damned.
He has been in constant demand for voice-over work in Britain in recent years, particularly on television documentaries and commercials. in theatre he was acclaimed in the play "The Gigli Concert" in which he performed alongside Catherine Cusack and Niall Buggy.
His most recent film, Autumn 2006, is Poppies. In 2007 he is due to appear on the independent film Naked in London.
